Just Quietly

Well there's been a shift, a massive shift that may have only taken somewhere in the region of eight years to complete. Finally it feels like I am back where I once was. The biggest moment in this was that I emptied my inbox on my gmail account. I emptied it of about 10,000 unread messages, archived a lot less and filed a lot more. It's been a revelation. The main part of this being that finally I see the point in all the spam I've been signing up for for years. Isn't that crzy. I don't think many people are able to say that. It turns out I like the world and myself far more than I thought. My inbox is filled with organic cures, natural tinctures and ways towards a sustainable world and world peace.

What is more now I've got an empty inbox I can see what's coming in, delete it on the spot or give it a moment of my time. Change.org, Avaaz and 380 Degrees all have my attention regularly and I sign most of the petitions that come my way, unless I feel I don't know enough about it or that it's not aligned with my beliefs. I don't share them all on facebook I do read them all.

It's been a big change and I wonder if it just places me in the realm of armchair activist. It doesn't feel like it, I get follow up emails. I get feedback that things have got better, that someone is pushing on, that people feel validated, a case made it to court or maybe that just one person is living a slightly happier life feeling supported by an online community of people that care.

So there is is just quietly changing the world for the better using all the emails that are sent to me.
